I am an avid crocheter and recognize that there are those less fortunate than I. In the past I have crocheted afghans that I have donated to the Salvation Army Family Shelter. We will focus on crocheting or knitting scarves, hats, slippers and mittens for those in shelters in the local area. I can teach crochet as I am self-taught. I couldn't find at meet up group that met on the north side of Chicago in Lakeview, Uptown or Edgewater at the times that I was available.  So, I decided to start my own. All people are welcome to join!  We are always looking to make new friends. We have two regularly scheduled meet ups.  There is one every other week on Sunday afternoons.  The other is on Monday evenings on the opposite weeks (so there is only one meet up per week).

Chicago Knitters Unite is a well-rounded group of friendly people who just want to knit and crochet over good food, wine and beer, and in good company.
